The Dixie-Anna C Spencer Memorial Fund was established in November of 2003.
It came about after the death of its namesake, Dixie-Anna Spencer.

Dixie, just 2 years old, was murdered by her Stepfather on October 28, 2003.

Two teachers, one of them Dixie’s Aunt, and a concerned mother and social
worker came together to try and make something good happen in light of a
terrible tragedy. The fund is a result of that collaboration.

The fund was established with the goal of providing educational, outreach, and intervention programs to help curb the rising problem of child
Abuse and Homicide.
